Tonia is a dedicated healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience as a caregiver. She began her career as a Healthcare Assistant in a care home and, in 2006, qualified as a Registered General Nurse at City University School of Nursing and Midwifery, London. Tonia then worked as a Community Nurse with the Barking and Dagenham NHS Trust.

In 2012, she advanced her education, earning a degree in Public Health and Health Service Management from the University of East London. Tonia has since worked across various London boroughs as a Practice Nurse and Advanced Nurse Practitioner in GP surgeries. Committed to continuous learning, she furthered her education by obtaining an MBA in Public Health from the University of Cumbria in 2022.
Tonia co-founded Brand Healthcare, a leading domiciliary care agency in the UK. Passionate about combating diabetes, she founded The Light Diabetes Organisation, focusing on diabetes prevention, health outreach, education, and empowering individuals to manage their health.
An active community leader, Tonia is also a member of the Rotary Club of Barking, where she served as President from 2022 to 2023.
